Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon. He was born in Babylon and lived from 634 BC - 562 BC. Nebuchadnezzar’s main achievement was rebuilding Babylon. He built temples in many cities of his kingdom and built The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar was the son of Nabopolassar and he became the general of his father’s army. He spoke to the gods and it seemed as if they heard his prayer because Babylon soon became the most powerful city-state region. Nebuchadnezzar’s wish came true when he died in the city he built. Although this may be true Nebuchadnezzar was not the only important person in Ancient Mesopotamia.
